Question about Alienware Computers
So my computer died today and I'm thinking about buying this at Best Buy:
Alienware Aurora
ntel Core i7-920 processor
Features an 8MB cache and 2.66GHz processor speed.
9GB DDR3 SDRAM expandable to 24GB.
1TB Serial ATA II hard drive (7200 rpm)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 graphics
Features 1792MB of dedicated video memory for lush images. High-definition 7.1-channel audio support.
19-in-1 digital media reader
2 IEEE 1394 (FireWire) interfaces and 8 high-speed USB 2.0 ports
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 64-bit
Liquid Cooled
Its $1500 which I feel is a very good deal. Any thoughts?

From what I gather the i7 is a quad core that utilizes each core as a dual core. From quotes I've gotten from builders, this really seams the way to go. This is the quote I got last night:
Intel Core i7-920
Asus P6T X58 Motherboard
6GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM
Watercooled Corsair H50 CPU Cooler
XFX Ati 5770 1GB Graphics card --(Can do 3 monitors immediately, add a second card in Crossfire when you are able to afford it and it will rival the 5870).
1TB Western Digital Hard Drive
DVD+/- Burner
Logisys CS606 Case -- (One of the ones alienware uses for the same cool look).
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
FREE 3 year warranty and lifetime tech support. (This is where you save money, they want 300 for the same service and because components do fail its worth it.)
Price includes shipping and paypal fees.
$1466.99

Re: Question about Alienware Computers
I have the HD5750, its built for 3 displays. No need for another GFX card. See what you can do about getting that Card instead.
Re: Question about Alienware Computers
I could build that computer for 800-900$ USD your buying the name when it comes to alienware....

Re: Question about Alienware Computers
did you new egg the prices? three 21" monitors would be plenty. I have a tower from my past PC build, and the cd/dvd drives. What would it cost to have you build it for me?
