Saturday Night Showdown points series
Draft Happy Saturday Showdown Points system
The main points race will take place on Saturday nights at 11 pm and will feature 100 lap yellow flag events with 24 entries. To race in the Saturday race, you must qualify by running one of the Quads on Thursday or Friday. Quad races are 60 lap yellow flag qualifying events. You may run in multiple qualifying races on either Thursday or Friday. Your best finish will be the one that counts toward qualifying points. Once all 4 qualifiers are done, points will be calculated based on the current Nascar Sprint cup points system listed below. Points will be awarded based on your finish in your best race, then there will be 5 bonus points for leading the most laps, and 5 bonus points for leading a lap.
For the first week, the top 24 from the qualifier points will be in the main on Saturday. After the first week, the top 12 in Saturday Showdown points will have a guaranteed starting spot in the Saturday race. The final 12 spots will be selected from the qualifier points. If you are in the top 12 and fail to run a qualifying race on Thursday or Friday, you must start in the back on Saturday.
Saturday points will be awarded in the same fashion as the qualifier points, except there will be an additional 5 point bonus if you win a qualifier during the week. The Saturday Showdown points will run for 8 weeks and then move into a chase format. On the 9th week, the top 12 in points will have thier points reset to 2000. In addition, there will be 5 bonus points awarded for each Saturday night win a driver has during the season. The chase will last 5 weeks and crown the champion. Points during the chase will be awarded in the same manner as previous races. During the "regular season" your best 7 points finishes of the 8 will count. During the chase, your best 4 finishes will count. This is done to allow for vacations, emergencies, disconnects, etc.
The first week will take place during week 13 of the iRacing official series. This will put the first Saturday night race on Saturday, May 1. Quads will take place the Thursday and Friday leading up to this date(April 29-30) and run with the same car and track as the upcoming Saturday night race. Races will continue in this manner on a weekly basis and conclude the same week that the iRacing official series concludes.

I'll try to make as many races as I can. The 11pm start works out perfect for me.
